phpBB and Gallery are two separate programs developed by two different groups of software developers. It is possible to teach them how to talk to one another, but it's time-consuming and your friendly neighborhood webmaster is working for free. You're welcome to register the same username and password for both the gallery and the forum, but only if you go through both registration processes.
Please consult the phpBB Forum FAQ.
The gallery is designed to be fairly intuitive, so the best way to learn is to play around in the Test Album. (Make sure to login. All you can do is view the pictures if you're not logged in.) But here are some tips to get you started:
- From the main Gallery page, click on an album to see the pictures inside.
- To see a full-size picture, click on the small preview of the photo in the album.
- To comment on a photo, view the full-size picture, then click on the "Add Comment" link below it.
- To add a photo to an album, click to enter the album. Then click on the drop-down menu that says "admin options". Choose "add photos" from the drop-down menu. Follow the prompts to add your own photos.
- To add your own album within an existing album, click to enter the existing album. Then click on the drop-down menu that says "admin options". Choose "new nested album" from the drop-down menu. Follow the prompts to add your new album.
If you have a link that you think other Handy Girls of '59 would like to know about, please send it to the webmaster. (His address is at the bottom of the page.)
Do you know all that spam that clogs up your e-mail inbox? One way that spammers collect e-mail addresses is to send "web spiders" searching all the websites of the world. Whenever they find an e-mail address, they collect it for the spammers. Web spiders can read, but they have trouble with pictures, so this website uses pictures of e-mail addresses instead of the actual text. This confuses the web spiders. Unfortunately, it's also a little inconvenient for you. Sorry. You'll have to manually type the e-mail addresses into your e-mail.
Please e-mail the webmaster. His e-mail is at the bottom of the page. Please remember that the webmaster (Jacquie's son) is not a paid professional. Just a volunteer amateur. Answers may sometimes take a while.
